The extraordinary partnership with Gravner

Innovation and tradition have been the driving forces behind our collaboration with Gravner. On February 7, we marked a key milestone with the presentation of Pfaudler’s glass-lined tanks at Gravner’s winery, where industry experts and journalists gathered to witness the fusion of technology and craftsmanship in winemaking.

A Vision for Excellence

In October of 2024, Gravner Winery approached us with an exciting task: creating peak-quality storage for their exceptional wines. Bringing together tradition and innovation to preserve and elevate the excellence of Gravner wines has been the foundation of this collaboration. From custom design to precision engineering, every step of this journey has been guided by a deep respect for winemaking craftsmanship. This project began with a clear objective: to create an innovative solution that would seamlessly integrate into Gravner’s production process, enhancing storage capacity while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, durability, and product integrity.

From concept to creation

Every great project starts with a vision. The Gravner winery sought a storage solution that could complement its traditional winemaking methods without compromising quality. Thankfully, quality is the hallmark of Pfaudler products. The Pfaudler team designed and developed four 70-hectoliter glass-lined tanks, crafted from high-quality steel and built using advanced engineering techniques, in order to meet this challenge.
The result was a perfect balance between strength and precision, ensuring that each tank supports the meticulous winemaking process while preserving the integrity of the wine.

Glass Lining: a crucial step

Once the steel fabrication was complete, the tanks underwent the glass lining process, a key phase where steel and glass fuse at high temperatures to form an ultra-smooth, non-porous, and corrosion-resistant surface.

This advanced process plays a fundamental role in:

✅ Ensuring maximum hygiene and ease of cleaning
✅ Providing long-term durability and resistance to chemical agents

Each tank was painstakingly tested to guarantee structural integrity and peak performance, while the exterior was finished with sustainable coatings, ensuring both functionality and environmental responsibility.

Installation: the final step

With the design and testing phases successfully completed, the tanks were finally installed, seamlessly integrating into Gravner’s production process.
Every detail, from technical configuration to on-site commissioning, was carefully planned and executed to ensure optimal performance and efficiency, allowing Gravner to expand its winemaking capacity while staying true to its philosophy.
