Pfaudler - Glass-Lined & Alloy Systems
Technologies
The Pfaudler valve family – glass-lined performance carriers.
The Pfaudler glass-lined valve system provides for two types of applications and purposes:
- Glass-lined outlet valves to be fitted on glass-lined reactors or storage vessels (AMA/ APA type).
- Glass-lined stop or control valves for installation in pipelines (DMA/ DPA type).
Most of them are available in Fire Safe execution to BS6755.
What are the characteristics of the valve design?
- Available in most in Pfaudler glasses: WWG/ PPG/ ASG/ ARG
- Suitable for outlet nozzles or pipes - DN50 to DN200
- Compact design, low height
- Media only in contact with highly efficient Pfaudler glass lining or PTFE
- Lateral maintenance opening for easy and safe inspection and cleaning of interior space
- Special outlet groove in the valve body for complete drainage
- Modular design, allowing for many configurations – mostly can be configured from stock
- Compliant with the TA-Luft – German regulation for control of emissions
- GMP design in line with FDA approved components
- CE marked as pressure equipment, certified with Machinery Directive and ATEX
A large range of configurations for all applications
Due to their modular design, Pfaudler glass-lined valves can be customized for most process requirements in a short period of time:
- Manual or pneumatic, in standard air failure, closed but can be inverted
- In-line or with lateral pneumatic actuator
- PTFE seat for swaged nozzles or PTFE flat seat, for swaged nozzle or block flange (dead zone free design).
- Combined sealing (bellow + stuffing box) or single sealing with stuffing box
- High temperature, high pressure design with Hastelloy bellow
- Lateral emergency handwheel in case of air failure
- Available instruments:
- Temperature
- Corrosion detection
- Combined stem with temperature and corrosion detection
- Open/Closed limit switches
- Actuator/ positioner for utilization as control valve
Safety under extreme conditions: glass- lined fire safe valves.
An extension of the modular design of the valves is the Pfaudler fire safe design, under the requirements of British Standard BS 6755 Part 2 (1987):
- APA-FS series: pneumatic – in-line bottom outlet valve;
- APA-SB series: same as APA FS, but with lateral actuator for compact installation.
For certification, the fire safe valves were heated up to a temperature of 950°C for 30 minutes, then tested for internal and external leakage. Pfaudler is entitled to issue a factory certificate in compliance with BS6755, Part 2 (1987). The following sizes are available:
- DN80/50
- DN100/80
- DN150/100
