Rotolining

Rotolining is similar to rotomolding except that the metal substrate is used as both the mold and exterior component of the finished part.

It is ideal for fluoropolymer lining of complex shapes. This process generates a one-piece plastic wall typically 3-6 times thicker than a spray-on and baked coating. Primer systems are used to achieve a chemical bond between the steel and plastic. Wire reinforced systems can allow for full vacuum and high temperature resistance.

Specification

  • Rotolining is offered in PE, ETFE, PVDF and PFA
  • Rotolined parts can generate a chemical bond without the use of adhesives
  • Operating temperature range 20 to 400°F
  • Thickness range .120”-.250” (3-6 mm)
  • Provides a substantially thicker liner than most conventional electrostatic and dispersion coatings
  • Seamless lining capabilities of complex shapes (no air welds or cap strips)
  • Spark tested to 20,000 volts
  • Minimizes flanged connections on complex pipe geometries
  • Field repairable
  • Liner is machinable
  • Solid modeling / CNC machine capabilities for mold design and manufacturing

FluoroLock™

FluoroLock™ PROPRIETARY ROTOLINING TECHNOLOGY

Seamless liners withstand full vacuum service at high temperatures

FluoroLock™ is a proprietary Edlon® technology that utilizes a combination of mechanical and chemical bonding techniques that lock a fluoropolymer (ETFE or PFA) liner to a metal substrate. Wire mesh is the foundation of our Fluorolock system, which is welded to the substrate prior to application of the fluoropolymer. The result is a seamless liner up to 5/16” (8 mm) thick, free of both air welds and cap strips. Because Fluorolock is a dual bonded system, it can withstand full vacuum service at high temperatures and offers a bond strength greater than the fluoropolymer tear strength.

Rotational Molding

Rotomolding is a process that produces freestanding thermoplastic parts using an external mold. The mold is charged with resin, then simultaneously heated and turned on multiple axes, evenly distributing the molten thermoplastic.
Rotomolding is ideal for intricate shapes required for small to medium volumes.
