Tefzel® coating by Edlon® offers superior corrosion resistance and excellent abrasion resistance

Edlon Inc.'s SC-5001 is a proprietary ETFE (Tefzel®)-based coating engineered for high performance in corrosive environments. This coating combines excellent corrosion resistance with good mechanical properties for increased protection against abrasion and wear.

Specifications

Coating Thickness

Typical coating thickness is nominal 0.040” on all interior surfaces and flange faces. Coating thicknesses from 0.020” to 0.060” are available, depending on application requirements and part geometry. The standard 0.015” thick exterior coating protects vessel exterior from spills or harsh environments.

Chemical Resistance

Outstanding resistance to attacks by most chemicals and solvents at temperatures below 220°F. Resistant to many chemicals at temperatures up to 300°F. Contact Edlon for recommendations on the suitability of SC-5001 in specific applications.

Testing and Repair

Coating is guaranteed 100% pinhole-free, unless otherwise noted. If the coating should ever become mechanically damaged in your service, it can be field-repaired. Edlon technicians can make repairs on site, or they can provide field repair training for your personnel. Consult Edlon for guidance on spark testing and repair of coated parts.
