Overview
A Wiped Film Evaporator (WFE) is a thin film evaporator specifically designed to handle the most difficult evaporation applications including the following:
- Heat Sensitive Products
- Viscous Products
- High Fouling Products
- High Boiling Products
Since the 1950s, Wiped Film Evaporator has been installed worldwide in a wide range of processes including chemical and petrochemical ones, as well as specialty chemicals, oil re-refining, biodiesel, polymers, resins, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals.
The jacketed pressure vessels in EQUILLOY’s WFEs are designed and manufactured according to most major worldwide pressure vessel codes. We can manufacture WFEs made of various alloy materials, such as stainless and duplex stainless steel, high nickel alloys, and also glass-lined steel.
Benefits of WFEs:
- Minimize thermal degradation
- Higher product yields
- Improved color/odor
- Improved separation
- High-vacuum operation
- Improved heat transfer
- Minimal fouling
- Low maintenance
EQUILLOY also design and build complete process systems, with WFEs at their core, including all ancillary equipment, instruments, piping, and controls. Along with the WFE, there are many other critical aspects in a complete WFE process system, including pre-heating, de-gassing, de-volatilization, vacuum, utilities, as well as product and waste handling. EQUILLOY's focus is to provide its clients with the most efficient and reliable overall system, in order to obtain excellent performance rates for their processes.
